Default Remove Anti-Macro drinking code

Ok this is getting annoying... i'm knocking back spiked eggnog and hunters ales while chatting. Then every so often my minutes clock stops counting.

I don't care if Anet have implemented something to stop people using a macro to afk the ale hound title, it should be slightly less retarded. How can you be afking the title while using your computer and NOT been 'Away'?.

Would be nice to at least sort this useless frigging code out to at least stop people doing it rather than screw people over doing it legitimately.

I agree also, but you could just do this:

*types for a while*
*drinks for a while*

W A S D

repeat.

What happens? I am trying for title too and was planning on going for a marathon drinking session while chatting. It cuts you off?

Basically it stops counting minutes after 10 minutes or so... Anets utterly useless code to stop people using a macro to automatically drink booze every minute. I mean who actually cares if people use a macro to afk drink anyway... i'm sure there are slightly more pressing issues at hand than people using a program to drink ale/eggnog.

I hadnt actually realised they had anti-bot code built into the drunk title. But the thing confuses me about this is;

Surely you have to go afk to do the drunk titles?

Anet cant expect you to sit there while your character prances around spouting drunk random things, for hours on end.

But they obviously do if they have this protection code to detect whether your account is active while drinking.

I realise that you have to come back now and again anyway to down the next pint, but still...

/signed

Purely because its stupid to be expected to sit there and occassionaly push a few keyboard buttons to keep the counter going.

Its not as if you can actually do anything while your character is drunk anyway. The drunk title is the kind of thing you aim for when you have nothing else to do and spare gold lying around. It gives you the chance to set your character off drinking while you go relax or socialise.

But instead Anet wants you to sit at the computer bored.

Anet shouldnt have added such an easily explotitably title, if they didnt want people using illegical methods to attain it.

Its like trying to punish leachers.

You cant say 100% whether a leacher is afk or a robot. The same goes for anyone trying to achieve the drunk title, so its make no sense to have this code in place.

I just started trying to get this title and noticed that the 'timer' isn't right at all. A drink that is supposed to give me 1 minute of drunkeness actually does nothing unless I drink at least 3 at a time - and then it shows as 2 minutes eventually. The Spiked Eggnog, a 3 minute drink sometimes gies me 3 minutes but as likely as not, it does nothing.

So in the 6 regular Eggnogs and 12 Spiked my character consumed the other day over time (yes, I know how to count), he only received 14 minutes on his title instead of the 42 I expected. That's quite a difference.

(I wasn't afk, either. I was actually rearranging inventory and catching up with a guildmate who'd just gotten Nightfall and wanted a few pointers.)

I call bull. I drank non stop for 3 hours once on my way to the drunkard title and it didn't do that once. Maybe just work on your timing a bit and keep track of your booze better cause I do not think that a.net would do that.

Of course, I was doing the 3 ales every 3 miniutes (5 at the start) thing. Maybe the macro code doesn't detect that as easily. Try that instead and see if that works better for you.

I don't have this problem with spiked but with normal hunters ale. I'm getting ale-hound to another char atm and started noticing that the title counter doesn't work at all like it suppose to work.

Less restrictions would really be nice with drinking I agree

umm that's working as intended. think of it this way, there are 5 levels of drunkeness and one completely sober:
0: No drinks
1: 1 drink taken
2: 2 drinks taken
3: 3 drinks taken
4: 4 drinks taken
5: 5 drinks taken

You need to be at least at lvl 3 for the time to count towards your drunkard title. Spiked Eggnog knocks you up to lvl 3 right away while others only add one level so you need to drink 3 of them. Easiest way I've found is to drink 5 ales and then just drink another whenever you see the counter go up.

OMG, I have 1 year playing, and my "drunkest" character has 14 minutes, so I still need 986 minutes for the Drunkard title, mmm, all the beer I have drunk is the one I get in some events, and some I bought the first time the title was added, so, mmm, maybe in 70 years playing I could get the title in a normal way?

Here is what I use booze for. When I am playing a minion master I generally tend to scream out to my companions, "I AM THE DRUNKEN NECRO." And then I promptly consume several beers and let my minions tear everything up. When I have no more booze, I dance instead.

I just wanted to share that little story hehe. But yes, I've noticed the problem as well. I downed several beers once and nothing happened. My timer wouldn't even start after i had taken in about 4 or 5 hunters ales. Drove me nuts.

yea enko's got it right about the levels. Oh and if you go over 5 drinks it still treats it like you still have 5 drinks, so basically the screen gets worse but it doesnt count towards more minutes.

The question i have is do you know anything about mixing different types of alcohol and if it they combine on top of each other. Like the witches brew and absinthe i found didnt "mix" together. Like if i took 2 witches brews and then 2 absinthe sometimes the timer wouldnt go up after a minute. But thats ok cuz i didnt like the witch brews anyway they made the screen to damn orange. :-p

I've been doing that for 2 hours already (still going right now) and the counter works just fine. I've set myself to "Offline" in the friend list, and just stood in my guild hall. No chatting, no moving. Still counts perfectly.

Perhaps the OP dropped down to the lower levels of drunkeness and didn't realize it?

down 3 drinks at the start of a mission and another about 1/2 way and you will find your timers jump drastically... its not like you can't play with teh foggy screen just C and space or T and space as normal... much more then 3 and 4th 1/2 way will be hard to see though... Its really really funny when your drunk in a cutscene... lol its something to try sometime. especially if your not the leader lol cause you fall down in the background lol

Ha haaa. I've never gotten drunk, but that would be very fun if the group did that for a cutscene.

1)I like that title got rank 1(1000minutes) now stockpilling drinks from events.
2)I agree that the existance of more drunk lvls would help some people but i think these people would be the AFK'S ! So, so far the anti-macro system is ok.
3)Ok, I would like to see drunk Level reach 10(5 so far) while the player will be on the ground drunked and mumbling(more emotes), but again i would consider it fair if the player gets more than lvl 10 drunk to die and loose the drunk lvl's he had !!! So most people will figure it out whats wrong.
